Ladies and Gentlemen

Good Morning – A warm welcome to you all!

It gives me great pleasure to extend to you all a very warm welcome on behalf of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, Kumasi Technical University and to express our heartfelt gratitude to our panel members from sister Universities (i.e. Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, University of Cape Coast and the University of Energy and Natural Resources) for accepting our invitation to participate in this maiden FAST Colloquium 2019.

It is an opportune time to renew contacts and discuss problems of mutual interest with panel members, presenters and participants. It is gratifying to note that the agenda of the colloquium under the theme “Applied Sciences Research in Technical Universities - Experiencing the New Paradigm” covers a wide range of interesting areas relating to the various Departments under FAST (i.e. Hotel Catering and Institutional Management, Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics and Information Science)

I am highly obliged to the research scholars who have made it to this Colloquium and would be presenting their papers. These papers would ultimately enlighten all of us present here. The Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology aspires to take a leading role in spearheading tailored research that incorporates the indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into solving the very problems and challenges that confront us in our communities, institutions, country and the world at large.

I hope you have an engaging and fruitful session ahead. Once again, I welcome you all to the Colloquium and hope that you have a great time ahead.

Thank You!
